Patti White from California had a very unique experience when her daughter, Lisa, announced that she was pregnant. Lisa, who has Down syndrome, had lived independently for several years, working full-time at a local Goodwill store and maintaining her own apartment. Patti proudly posted a picture of the mother and son, both smiling and laughing together, demonstrating the bond they shared. Patti wrote: “This is my daughter, Lisa, clowning with her son, Nic. They both have Down syndrome. This year is a landmark for all of us. She will turn 50, and he will turn 20. Me, I’m older than dirt. So proud of us.”
