The brothers, 19 years old and from Lawrenceville, Georgia, were supposed to board a flight on March 7 but failed to show up at the airport. Their disappearance quickly sparked concern, and the following day, their bodies were discovered in an alarming and mysterious situation.

On March 8, a hiker found the bodies of Qaadir and Naazir at the summit of Bell Mountain, which is located near the North Carolina border. Both teens had suffered gunshot wounds, and authorities are treating the case as a potential murder-suicide. However, the Lewis family has vehemently rejected this theory. Rahim Brawner, the boys’ uncle, emphasized the close bond between the twins, describing them as inseparable and protective of one another. “They love each other,” he said in an interview with local WXIA-TV. “They were never the type to fight or hurt each other. I couldn’t imagine them doing something like this.”

The family’s disbelief was echoed by Yasmin Brawner, the boys’ aunt, who insisted that the twins were well-supported by family and friends and would not have engaged in violence. “We know them. They would never do anything like this,” Yasmin said. “Something happened out there, and we need answers.”

The discovery of the brothers’ bodies has raised even more questions. The family revealed that both Qaadir and Naazir had their plane tickets in their wallets when they were found, suggesting they had every intention of flying. Additionally, the location where their bodies were discovered was unfamiliar to the twins. Samira Brawner, another aunt, expressed confusion about how they could have ended up in the mountains. “They’ve never been out there before. They don’t know anything about Hiawassee, Georgia. So how did they end up on that mountain?”

Authorities have yet to confirm the full details of the investigation. A spokesperson from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) stated that an autopsy has been completed, but additional forensic tests are still pending.
